Vito Ungaro
Playing Background
Vito started playing soccer at 3 years old. He then grew into playing for Glenview Traveling. Vito also played for the Sockers FC, in which he won numerous tournaments, state titles and the Best of the Midwest award.
At Glenbrook South, he played all four years. Vito was a stand-out player and moved up to the Varsity team his sophomore year. In 1999, he won a national title while playing for Team Illinois .
As a senior at GBS, Vito was recruited to play for the University of Kansas . He was a 4-year Varsity player there and a started for three of those years. At KU, he won three Big 12 Championships and traveled to play all over the country. He also coached and helped train at camps at Kansas .
Coaching History
Vito has been coaching soccer for around six years. He started coaching while still at the University of Kansas . Upon his return after college, he wanted to continue giving back to the soccer community and pursued coaching in the Chicagoland area. He has been a coach with Glenview since 2006. Vito also coaches Loyola Academy boys’ soccer and Regina High School girls’ soccer.
